How Do You Hear Your Intuition?

Your Intuition Is Calling—Are You Listening?

We’ve got all kinds of ways to describe intuition:

  • I have a hunch.

  • I just had déjà vu.

  • I’ve got a weird gut feeling.

  • The vibe in here is… off.

  • I just know it—I don’t know how, but I do.

Our everyday language is laced with intuition, but most people don’t even realize it’s their intuition making their stomach flutter, their chest tighten, or guiding them toward (or away from) something.

Intuition is a superpower we all possess. It’s like abs: everyone technically has them, they’re silently supporting your core whether you use them or not—and with the right attention, they can become stronger and more defined. I’ve always been intuitive, but over the last two decades, I’ve really trained my intuition to help me create a playful, beautiful, soul-aligned life.

Here are the top 3 blocks I see—both in myself and my clients—that get in the way of intuitive clarity:

1. You're not hydrated.

Yes, really. If you’re not nourished and hydrated, your intuition is operating on low power. Think of water as your battery charger. Big decision to make? Drink a tall glass of water first. I start every day with 16 ounces of water to make sure my intuition is fully online and ready to guide me.

2. You’re polling everyone but yourself.

Ah, the ol’ “What do you think I should do?” to ten different people—ten different answers later and your own inner knowing has left the chat. I used to love polling people (hello, Libra here). It made me feel like someone else was in the boat with me. That way, if I made the wrong choice, it wasn’t entirely on me. 🤦‍♀️But here’s the truth: when you always ask others, you drown out yourself.Try this instead: ask your inner voice first. Then, if needed, consult one trusted intuitive friend for a gut-check. You’ll build confidence, clarity, and sovereignty.

3. You're overthinking.

Intuition is fast. It’s usually the first thought or sensation—and then we talk ourselves out of it. The left brain loves logic, but intuition? It often defies logic. It doesn’t always make sense, but it does bring peace.

I once canceled a dream teaching trip to Costa Rica because something felt... off. Anxious. Unsettled. My intuition screamed at me like a flashing neon sign: CANCEL. I didn’t know why, but I listened. The moment I canceled, peace washed over me.The week I would have been gone? A family emergency popped up and my youngest daughter came down with COVID. That intuitive decision spared me a world of stress and guilt. It doesn’t have to make sense in the moment to be true.

So how can you start trusting your intuition more?

Here are my top 4 ways to tune in to your inner wisdom:

1. Journal.

Dump the to-do list, the shoulds, the worries. Then, once your mind is clearer, ask a question and just write. Let it flow. You might be surprised by the wisdom that spills out.I’ve journaled since I was 16. Most of my best ideas came from my own handwriting.

2. Be quiet.

In a world full of noise—scrolling, podcasts, playlists, Netflix—our intuition gets drowned out. Turn it all off while you shower, drive, or clean. Repetitive tasks keep your mind lightly engaged, which opens a backdoor for intuition to sneak through. This is why so many people get their best ideas in the shower. 😊

3. Get outside.

Nature grounds you in high-vibe energy. When you’re in that frequency, your intuitive channels open up. Combine quiet and nature and you’ve got a supercharged connection.Take a walk. Sit in your garden. Lay on the grass. Bonus points if you drink a glass of water while you’re at it! I often journal outside in the morning—it’s my favorite way to align and plug in.

4. Meditate (even if you hate meditating).

I know. You’ve heard it a million times. But it’s said often for a reason: it works. That said, I know many of my clients struggle to sit still and “clear their mind.” So here’s a trick: try coloring. Yep. It engages the mind just enough to let the intuitive side start whispering. It’s calming, creative, and sneakily effective. My daughter swears by it—and I do too.

There are so many simple ways to hear your intuition more clearly. And trust me, it’s worth it.

Intuition makes life feel magical, aligned, and full of ease. But it’s not just mystical—it's practical. It tells you to put an umbrella in the car on Tuesday, and when it unexpectedly rains Thursday, you walk into your meeting dry, calm, and grateful. It nudges you to text a friend, and they reply, “I really needed to hear that.”It whispers, “Call this person,” and that person ends up holding the solution you’ve been waiting for.

Intuition is subtle. It rarely roars—it whispers. It brings peace, guidance, clarity, and alignment.

And yes, you have it.

So… are you ready to use it more?
