Why Hypnotherapy Now?

The Part of You That's Been Protecting You

I've been sitting with something lately: how much energy it takes to fight ourselves.

Since announcing my hypnotherapy certification, I've completed sessions with four clients — and now have twelve more booked. What I'm seeing, in them and honestly in myself, is teaching me something I want to share.

Most of us have a version of ourselves we're trying to become. Calmer. Bolder. Less reactive with our kids. More at ease in our own skin. And most of us have tried to get there the same way: work harder, think more positively, make a stricter plan, push past the resistance.

There's an old saying I keep coming back to: what we resist persists. Here's what I've learned, both as a healer and as someone doing my own inner work: when we fight our resistance, we usually just make it louder.

Resistance Isn't the Enemy

We tend to treat resistance like a flaw — proof that we're not disciplined enough, not spiritual enough, not trying hard enough. But resistance almost always has a job. It's a part of us that learned, a long time ago, that staying small or staying stuck was the safest option. And it's still doing that job, even after the danger has passed.

I know this one personally. For years, I've been releasing a belief I was programmed with as a kid: be nice so people will like you. So I was nice. I worked hard at it. Then junior high happened, and I learned something that belief hadn't prepared me for — some people didn't like me no matter how nice I was. It wasn't a fear of losing relationships that took root after that. It was a deeper fear of simply not being likable. So I started to dim myself down. Just enough to fit in. Just enough to be likable.

It wasn't until I could see that fifteen-year-old part of me clearly — not as a problem to fix, but as a girl who was scared and doing her best to keep me safe — that something shifted. I didn't have to fight her. I could thank her. And once she felt understood instead of overridden, she loosened her grip. Now I get to be fully, unapologetically myself. Bright, imperfect, boldly me. It's safe for me not to be for everyone.

That's the piece most approaches to change miss. They try to override the protective part. Hypnotherapy works with it.

What The Shift During Hypnotherapy Looked Like for One Client

One of my hypnotherapy clients, Mary, came to me after years of doing "the work" — affirmations, energy work, talk therapy — around a lifelong fear of financial instability. Nothing had fully moved it.

In our session, we found what was underneath: a young, scared part of her that believed I have to take care of everyone. If I say no, something bad will happen. That belief had quietly run her whole adult life — the people-pleasing, the inability to set boundaries, especially around money, the anxiety that never fully eased no matter how much inner work she did.

One session later, she felt lighter immediately. Within two weeks, she noticed herself responding differently when family asked her for money — she could say no with ease. By week three, that was simply who she was. Today, she sets boundaries she never could before, and she describes it as finally having peace of mind around money — healing that actually stuck, in her words, instead of one more thing she had to maintain through willpower.

What changed wasn't Mary's discipline. It was that the part of her holding the old pattern finally felt safe enough to let it go.

Why Hypnotherapy Matters More Than Ever

This is, I think, the real difference between a masculine and a feminine model of healing. One dominates the pattern. The other turns toward it with compassion, gets curious about what it's protecting, and lets safety do what force never could.

Hypnotherapy speaks directly to the subconscious mind — the place where these protective beliefs actually live — instead of trying to out-argue them with the conscious mind. That's why one session can sometimes do what years of "trying harder" couldn't.

If you've been doing the work — really doing it — and still feel stuck in the same pattern, I want you to hear this: it doesn't mean you're failing. It means part of you hasn't felt safe enough to put the pattern down yet. That's not a character flaw. That's just where you are.

And it can shift.

Why I Pair Hypnotherapy With Reiki and Trilogy Alignment

One thing I've learned after twenty years in the healing arts: a single modality rarely does the whole job, and hypnotherapy is no exception. That's why I give Reiki throughout each hypnotherapy session — so the body has energetic support integrating the shift in real time, not just processing it in the mind.

But the piece that's made the biggest difference is what happens after the session. Sometimes, once that protective part of us feels safe enough to loosen its grip, whatever it was holding — old grief, old fear, an emotion that never got to fully move — surfaces. That's actually a good sign. It means something is releasing. But it needs somewhere to go.

This is where Trilogy Alignment comes in — the modality I created that blends a client's own intention and energy, divine energy, and my role as facilitator holding sacred space. Using muscle testing, I can quickly identify exactly what's ready to be released, integrated, or installed, without my own bias or assumptions getting in the way. It lets the client's body and higher self lead.

Paired with hypnotherapy, it means we're not just uncovering the root belief and letting the body do the slow work of catching up on its own. We're actively helping the nervous system finish what the session started — clearing whatever surfaces before it has a chance to re-root, and locking in the new, safer pattern so it actually holds.

I believe healing happens in layers: spirit first, then emotion and mind, and finally the body, which is often the last place a misalignment shows up and usually the last place it fully resolves. Hypnotherapy meets the belief. Reiki supports the energy. Trilogy Alignment helps the emotion complete its release. Together, it's the most complete process I've found in two decades of doing this work — and it's a big part of why the shifts I'm seeing in clients right now are landing so fast, and lasting.
